Here’s the full plan for 2026. Subject to change the moment I walk into a nursery and see something interesting.

Birdies Raised Beds (direct sow after May 15):

  • Lettuce, spinach, arugula, love the partial shade, less bolting
  • Basil, parsley, cilantro
  • Beets and carrots
  • Cucumbers
  • Zucchini and summer squash (there will be too many, there’s always too many)
  • Bush beans

Grow Bags (tomatoes, moveable):

  • 1-2 cherry tomato varieties
  • 1 slicer
  • Maybe peppers, still deciding

Long In-Ground Beds:

  • Strawberries, hoping they came back strong and can take over once the mint is cleared
  • Companion plants TBD once I see what survived winter

Perennial Grow Bags (already in, watching for bud break):

  • Sea berry (30 gal), this thing is going to be massive someday
  • Raspberry
  • Blackberry, contained in a bag for a reason

All three perennial bags overwintered outside. They’re all cold-hardy well below zone 6b, so they should be fine. The sea berry will be the last to show signs of life, it’s always slow to wake up.

More updates as the season actually starts.
